Blue and Grey: How to Make It Work In Your Kitchen

When it comes to kitchen design ideas, we believe that being bold and sticking with a color scheme can help refine the overall look of the space. A prime example is a kitchen we help coordinate vendors for a client and where blue and grey tones were embraced throughout each main element.

Blue is often toted for having a calming effect in a space, but it can also be utilized in a modern way as well. If being bold with color isn’t your style, not to worry, there are plenty of ways you can work blue into your kitchen both in design and in the accent pieces, while rounding it out with grey and white.

Blue Cabinets

This client chose to embrace the color theme and make the cabinets and island all be blue. To keep it feeling more modern, they chose a navy blue (like above). The blue cabinets became the statement piece in the kitchen, so not many accent pieces or colors were needed to finish the space.

To offset the blue cabinets, while still keeping the space clean and modern, this client added in stainless steel appliances. These became the accent pieces, while also contrasting beautifully with the blue cabinets.

Grey Tile

To accent the navy blue and grey tones in the kitchen, our client chose a concrete grey tile for the flooring. The grey tile keeps the home feeling modern, while also allowing the bolder touches of blue cabinets and grey appliances to shine.
